Greenlaw: Lying twelve miles over the border into Scotland and nestling to the south of the Lammermuir Hills, the rural village of Greenlaw, beside the river Blackadder, was once the county town of Berwickshire. Sitting right on the A697, Greenlaw is easy to find, and is central to the many visitor attractions - abbeys, castles, stately homes, gardens and country parks, museums, the famous river Tweed, forests and craft workshops - so there is plenty to see in the area. You can visit the Mellerstain, Thirlestaine, Manderson, Paxton, Abbotsford, Floors, The Hirsel and Holy Island, as they are all only a short drive away. Walking and cycle routes, tennis, bowling, horse riding, golf and fishing, swimming pools, the sea and nature reserves mean there is lots to do in the area.
