Glossop: Buxton 14 miles. The bustling former Mill town of Glossop sits in the extreme west of Derbyshire, surrounded by some of the most magnificent scenery in the Peak District. With plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants, the town is also ideally placed for making the most of the nearby Peak District National Park, or the spa town of Buxton. Close also is Hayfield, a peaceful village and popular with walkers who are attracted by its close proximity to Kinder Scout. Edale - the start of the Pennine Way - is only a few miles away and caters well for tourists with pubs, cafes and restaurants. Plenty to see and do in this lovely area.
